Sony has confirmed the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium will include a “smart home” feature that will be enabled through the “Smart Home” app, similar to the “Home” feature in the Windows Phone 8 and Windows 10 IoT Core apps.
Sony has previously confirmed a number of IoT Core devices will support the “smart” home feature, including the Xperia E5, Xperia E6, Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia Z4 Premium.
This means that users can set up home automation devices in the cloud using cloud-based services like Amazon Alexa or Google Home.
Sony also said it would also include a set of built-in sensors that would allow developers to control smart home devices.
In a blog post, Sony confirmed that the smart home feature would work through a set “of features” that were already available in the Xperia X7 series.
These included sensors for temperature, humidity, temperature and humidity alerts, temperature sensors, and more.
The Sony Xperia Z7 smartphone was previously announced for September 26.
Sony will be releasing the Xperia smartphones later this year.
The company has also confirmed that Xperia Z phones will be coming to the US and UK in October.
